How To Teach Your Dog To Hold A Toy

Hi i have been meaning to teach bolt to hold a stuffed animal with his paws while in a beg position but don't know where and how to get started on it, any suggestions?

haha I was just getting ready to give this trick a try tonight. I'm not really sure how to go about training it though lol. What I'm gonna try is asking Kodi to put his paws up on my arm the same way I taught him to say his prayers and then sort of introduce the toy to him and ask him to curl his paws around this, if that makes sense lol. I'm not very good at explaining things. Kodi's always been very "handsy" and is always curling his paws around things so I hope this method will work. I'll let you know how it goes.

Shivon knows this one! Except she picks up the toy and holds it while hugging it. I taught Shivon to hug my arm (or leg) first. There's a thread on this somewhere...
