Where to find the right pet shop in Nepal?

Hello out there,

I am new to this forum, but hope that both me as well as my new friend, Sara, a 4-month young german shepherd lady, will benefit from the collected wisdom of all of you.

As of now, we really don't have a problem, we just enjoy each others company and getting to know each other; but as we live in Nepal and we find it difficult to find and buy a good crate and some nice toys, like the Kong toys or the Buster Cube that could keep Sara busy while I am off to work.

We wondered if any of you have some advise on where we can find a good pet shop in Kathmandu that sell these things or, alternatively, how we can make our own modified models.

Regards, Sara & Frank

You've certainly perked my interest! Welcome!

I did a quick search, and came up with a possible starting point for you.

Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre
Chapali Gaon
Budanilkantha
GP Box 8975, EPC 4120
Kathmandu, Nepal
Telephone: +977 1 4373169
Email: [email protected]
http://www.katcentre.org.np/

The Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre (KAT Centre) is a non-profit registered charitable organisation dedicated to the humane management of street dogs in Kathmandu, Nepal.
They should have a lot of contacts in the area with dog suppliers, and might be able to point you to a source for crates, toys and other supplies. The founder, Jan Salter, is originally from the U.K. so language shouldn't be a problem.

Hope this helps!

Dear Bipa,

Thanks.

I'll try it out and get back to you to let you know the outcome.

Are you based in Nepal - or perhaps even Kathmandu?

Regards and thanks again,

Frank

You're very welcome! Sorry, I'm in Germany and have never been to Nepal. It's on my list of places to visit one of these days, though. I found the KAT Centre by googling.

Cheers! And keep us posted.....

WELCOME!!!
CONGRADULATIONS ON THE NEW PUPPY!! POST SOME PHOTOS OF YOUR PUPPY!!??:D

Hope you find a local shop!! Most dog stores HERE in USA also allow a person to bring their dog in to the store with them,:D when they shop.

You can google
or type in words "__name of your town____" plus the words "pet supplies" or "dog toys" etc, to find a place nearby.
You can also shop online, for specific items you need. GOOD LUCK!!
