U.S Presidential Candidate Ron Paul

This has nothing to do with dogs or dog tricks, but I have been following the U.S. presidential politics for a little while now, and I especially like this guy. His name is Ron Paul and he's running for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.

I hope Americans elect a good president, as I don't believe in wars.

I'm with you on this. I've watched Ron Paul for years. I think he's the only one who can pull us out of the corrupted mess that has become our government.

It is sad to say that a person from another country follows U.S. politics closer than I do living in the U.S., but I really do not like any polititons in general. They all are dirty! If you dig deep enough you can find dirt on all of them. I guess that is why I dislike politics so much, all the mud slinging that goes on.

It's actually very rare that I follow any politics; in fact I have never followed anyone in my entire life. But when you start listening to someone like Ron Paul, it makes you wonder how different the U.S. and Canada would be if the politicians had the people’s best interest at heart.

I wish you would take a look at his website, he actually never voted to increase taxes and he wants to abolish the IRS.

This is a dog training website after all, I just like the guy and his ideas and I thought I would spread the word, no biggie.

Jean I do not mean to offend any one by my comments above. All I was trying to say is I do not follow politics and in general I do not trust most of them. Upon reading my comments above I can see some people getting offended. Sorry, no hard feelings intended to any one. I actually was trying to say that it is sad to say that I do not follow politics, when other people from other countries follow politics closer than I.

I agree with you tho.... Politicians have a tendency of promising one thing and doing another, leaving us giving up hope on change.

I admit that the candidates' stand on animal policies meant a lot to me (we've had some close calls recently - CA almost decided that all dogs need to be fixed by 6 months old with almost no exception! BSL, etc). I can't find the clearly documented site that I read before, but here is an overview:

Obama is different, and naive, but I think he could really help us out a lot... though he also strikes me as having a high risk of assasination... a very powerful speaker.

I saw Obama and Clinton in person, and the contrast was hillarious! Clinton didn't even fill half of a college basketball court, while Obama had a line that was over a mile long and about 4 people wide (before the doors opened)... about 8,000 were in attendence *after* a 2 hour wait outside on a New England Feb. night!
