What types of rewards do you use for a dog that is not food motivated and toy driven?

Some that I thought of...praise, petting, getting to do something they want to such as go outside, play with another dog, go swimming, etc.

Any others?

None that I can think of. Sounds like you pretty well have it covered.

I worked with a dog that didn't care about any food or toys. I decided the best reward for her would be just to walk around on a "free" command. If she stayed in her "stay" I would release her for a few moments to go sniff and see things (on leash) and then we would work on it again, or sit, down, etc.

I do those. When we are out walking around working on heel and leash work...the most reenforcing thing for Deja is to be told "sniff". she loves to sniff around. Also just being able to move on and not stationary is reenforcing to her as well. She is a wiggle worm and staying still is not her thing. lol
