Hi everyone

My dog Pia is a Lagotto Romangnolo
We live in Cultus Lake BC

Since the Lagotto is a water dog from Italy, but they were almost
extinct but for the past 100 years have been used for truffle hunting
is a Lagotto Romangnolo. She is a rescue dog from Manitoba.
Our former landlord got her free and was going to train her for
a detection dog since that is his line of work.
He wanted me to foster her until he was ready to train her and she and I
fell in love with each at first site.

But Pia has an attitude. Which our landlord didn't like. So needless
to Pia never was trained for a detection dog. Which we were glad.
She is aggressive towards people who come into our home
but on her walks she is fine as long people don't try to pet her.

We fostered Pia since October 2012 until we moved in March 2013.
Our landlord asked us if we wanted her and of course our reaction
was yes.

Pia is getting better since we moved. She has made a lot of
friends in theist month.
One of her best friends Harley a Lab cross who lives next door.
Every time Pia goes out for her walks she looks to see if Harley
Is coming too.
They both get all excited and start talking to each other.

Pia already knew
Come
Sit
Stay
Long sit
Long down
Down
Shake a paw
Shake other paw
Sit and wait until I give the command for her to
eat her food
Fetch
She had been trained all of the above from her former owner

I'm looking forward to training Pia training some new tricks.

We also have a cat named Gitana. She was a rescue also.
I have trained her to do the following tricks:
Come
Stay
Sit
Down
Long sit
Long down
Roll over
Play dead
Figure eight
Put her paws up against the wall when asked what do
you when you get arrested?
Jump through a hoop
I trained Gitana with positive reinforcement.
Pictures to come

Hi and Welcome Lorna and Pia!!!!!!!!:) I love the name Pia:love: Do you know the meaning of it? Kudos for rescuing both Pia and Gitana (another pretty name). Love that Pia has a friend and also, Gitana does tricks too! Wish we lived closer she could whisper into my two cats ears about doing tricks - I still live in hope they will one day:rolleyes:

Welcome, Lorna and Pia. I am in Abbotsford! I just googled your dog's breed. So cute! Do you keep her coat long or short? How does she get along with your cat?
