Since Merlin was a puppy, we have been playing football with him. Now he is 20 months old, he has learnt how to defend goal, use his front paws to try and defend and kick. The last few weeks he now loves to push the ball with his nose. We can spend ages outside in Garden NEVER gets bored. England here we come! Only problem can`t let him off when they play football on the playing field.!
 
That is soo cute that he plays football:p. How'd you get him to kick the ball with his paws and nose it or did he do this own his own? I play with Missy, but she cheats she runs around with it in her mouth after a while she decides to let me have a turn with the ball and her chasing me. One thing she does do right is put her foot on top of the ball to keep it from rolling away from her.
 
Merlin just seemed to do it naturally. He learnt to nose the ball - to bring it back to us. He can only kick the very light children`s footballs as he is a sheltie. He have some heavy ones, but he won`t kick those.
