Crazy At The Door….

I was asked by a dog owner I know how to deal with a dog that jumps up and runs around when they have visitors in their house. I wanted to ask you guys first so I wouldn't be giving him false information.

I was thinking teaching his dog not to jump would help in this situatuion. Then, his dog would learn that when he is on the floor and is calm, he gets attention. Is this the right way to approach this problem??

Yeah, I think you're right Dlilly. I really don't have any other advice, just maybe teaching the dog sit stay and down stay, if it's possible.
