The K9-game

I've been playing this dog sim game, the k9-game, and I'm really liking it! It's easy, not too time consuming, realistic, and since it's not too popular there are a bunch of breeds that don't have any breeders. I thought I'd share the game on here so anyone who is interested can play!

I'm Dlilly on the game, I breed Australian Kelpies. :D I'm the only active Kelpie breeder.

(If you do end up joining, please use this link so I get credit!)

I'll check it out. I read the explanation of the game, but I still have no clue of what to expect:D

You pretty much just own a dog and enter it into competitions or breed it. There are other games like this with more options, but I could never understand the genetics or even how to train the dog. In this game, all you have to do is press a button to train the dog. =D I'm really happy to have found an easy to understand dog game!

I'll check it out later, with Ra Kismet on the sick list, don't have much spare time at present and concentration is shot!

It really depends on the breed. Some breeds are quite unpopular and a handful have no breeders at all. I was lucky to start with Aussies, because they have about 20 breeders and I was able to purchase some quality dogs to start off my lines with. Breeders of more unpopular breeds, such as Min Pins, get their dogs from the Breeding Kennel, which is hard because it costs BK credits. Maybe you could consider purchasing some dogs of more popular breeds? If you want to start in Aussies, I have some great puppies for sale. :)

Humm well the breeds I'm looking at are popular just not a lot for sale. Lol

I have an offer on a couple Min Pins and a Malinoia so waiting to see what comes of those. Ill keep the Aussies in mind. ;)

Try messaging the breeders, some breeders only sell to members who have been on for a while, they tend to act like the dogs are real. (I think it's a bit absurd.)

If you want an Australian Kelpie as a starter dog, I can give you one. :) I just had 2 litters of Kelpies. They don't have the best stats but it's better than nothing.

I find rules like that pretty pointless. I'm always willing to sell puppies to new members, and my only rules are that you let me know if the dog fails a health test. I also have a return policy set in place, so if the dog fails a health test I will buy it back for the same price it was sold for or if it is no longer wanted for any other reason I will buy it back for half the price it was sold for. This is really just to prevent genetic issues being spread from my dogs, even though my lines have proven to be pretty healthy and to prevent any dogs from going to waste just because their owners decided to change focuses or something like that. I put a lot of work into planning each breeding, and even if they are just virtual dogs, I still try and grasp an understanding of their genetics so I can produce better dogs. I health test all of my dogs and kanGene test most of my breeding dogs in every area I can and use formulas to calculate the stat outcomes of the litters. I know, I know, its a game, but I have fun putting work into it and I don't want that work to go to waste.

As for other breeders, I work closely with another Aussie breeder who has very strict rules, but I can understand why she put them in place. She does prefer to sell to experienced members. However, she has been playing the game for 4+ years and her dogs are very, very good. Many of her dogs have their Ch. and HTCh. which is a pretty good accomplishment. While I play the game for fun, she plays it seriously and has invested a lot of time and even some money into the game. She got upset when people were neglecting, pethoming and abandoning her dogs or using them in mixed breed programs only for their colours or one or two traits. She put up her rules to protect her work.

And just wanted to say THANK YOU!!! again for buying one of my puppies. Most people don't want working Aussies, only show dogs, so my dogs usually don't sell. :D
