First Walks

Hey! I have a 6 month old pup and I do my best to walk him everyday. He doesn't necessarily pulls but he goes in so many different directions aside from just forward. I would like him to walk beside or behind me. Any tips to help me achieve my goals? Thanks :)

Hi,
From your avatar it looks like you have a Siberian Husky? They are so much fun!

So in my classes the first thing we teach is Look and Touch - I find both of these great redirectors when their attention goes elsewhere. Look means make eye contact and Touch is to touch my palm with their nose - so when he is going every which way you can use those to bring his focus back to you.

As for the walking nicely - there is a great thread about this in progress here:

There have been tons of videos made about this very subject - so I thought I would share a few of my favorites.

Hope this helps!
