| Feb. Intermediate Training Challenge by CollieMan Rating: (1 votes - 5.00 average)
Objective: Using positive training techniques only, teach your dog the proper bang position by luring him and then start to increase the time and distractions. The objective is to have your dog go into that position by using your voice only. Example Demonstration: One example of how this might be taught can be viewed here. Important Information As with all of the monthly challenges, it is important that you do not try to push your dog any further than it is willing or physically able to go. Remember, the challenges are just for fun, and this should be reflected in your approach to training. | I released the Bang Lesson in the classroom at the same time as this challenge was created. So we thought it would be a good idea if we made this into the Intermediate February Challenge. ![]() |

| I spent two training sessions with this trick today, and I believe she learned it perfectly. I upgraded the trick a littlebit, but it's basicly the same. *EDIT* Here's the video: Last edited by szecsuani : 02-01-2008 at 08:37 AM. |

| Video looks good! With the exception of the darkness of course, but that might be something you can change with just a little editing, maybe change the brightness levels? I have no idea how, but maybe someone else can help you out there. That's also quite a jackpot on that last one! haha, here's the whole bowl of treats pup! |

| Oh, no, she works for her dinner-- she has dominance issues and weight-gain issues, so she works for her dinner-- that jackpot at the end was less than half a cup of kibble! I don't think she knows the difference-- since she never eats slowly enough to enjoy her food!![]() Yeah, I thought it would be a good time to train-- that's a west-facing window, so the sun was coming in at 5 pm when I recorded that... but all it did was make the camera go dark. ![]() Sorry again! Next session will be better! ![]() |

| Good luck guys! I haven't watched the vids, so I don't know the exact position y'all are teaching...(yes, "y'all." I am from Texas you know, hence the name). Anywho...Mud and I started this one last week, but I'm teaching her to flop over on her back, legs in the air, head rolled over to the side a little. It's a little harder to accomplish, as not all dogs are built to easily balance in that position. When I'm done, she'll limp for a few steps, then fall into a dramatic "death" by collapsing and rolling onto her back. Lol. ^^ |

| im going to have to practice this one more as storm quite often lifts his head to see if he'll get his treat even though he has to put it back down to get it |

| Pami did this too, and I tried to solve it with bending down to her, and holding a treat in my hand, and keeping my hand on the ground. This way, she didn't do it, and realised that she has to keep her head on the floor. |

| Here's session 3, she's got the wiggles, but she's got the behavior. We're working on the wiggles. |
