| I thought I would pass along a trick challenge that RogersMMR from youtube just issued! He has taught his ridgeback to put away the laundry and is now challenging everyone to teach their dogs to 1. open a drawer 2.put socks away 3. close the drawer. Just for fun, no prizes It's not an offical DTA challenge, but I thought I would share for those interested! |

| Well Vito and Lance have had 3 training sessions and I just couldn't wait to post our video. They still have a ways to go, but are having fun! |

I thought the video was excellent!!! I have tried this type of "help " but my dog just got too excited and totally ruined the laundry. You obviously have dogs that actually listen to you and try to do what you ask and not just do their own thing.Keep up the good work.....hopefully one less chore for you to do lyn ![]() |

| Thanks lyn! But I think that your dogs could do it too if you broke it down to easy steps! I first taught them to close the drawer, then I clicked them for grabbing a sock, and then for putting socks in a drawer that was on the ground. My dogs already have experience with putting an object inside something else (from the last easter challenge and other ones) so this was just teaching that a sock belongs in a drawer. Once I raised the drawer up higher I had to add the new step of jumping on a stool with a sock, etc. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to ask them to help in real life though It takes much less time for me to put the laundry away if I do it myself! |
