Kong-ked out

Posted 04-11-2009 at 07:05 PM by bellapup
For Bella's birthday, she received an extra large Kong.

She didn't know what wonderful things could come in it, but when I opened the package, she immediately tried to take it into her mouth. How she knew it was hers, I don't know.

I started off by spreading a bit of peanut butter around the inside. That didn't last very long. I put a couple of pieces of oranges (she loves those clementines) and before I knew it, she figured out that if she knocked the thing to the...

Happy Birthday Bella!

Today is Bella's first birthday!

I decided to buy a really cute doggie cupcake mix and made it right when I got home from the dog park.

Bella seemed to know what was coming, she kept pacing around me as I was mixing the batter. I have to admit those cupcakes sure smell yummy! They are all natural and not made with any indigestible material.

Pictures coming soon!

Posted 04-01-2009 at 09:16 PM by bellapup
I've done something silly.

I've taught Bella to chase her tail on command.

I point at her butt and whisper "Bella, get your tail!" which makes her turn her head sharply as if she's being stalked by it...and suddenly 'round and 'round she goes. *LOL*

She'll go around two or three times, stop, and sit looking at me like she's done the best thing in the world. When I start laughing, she jumps up on me as if sharing the laugh. I love Bella! ...

Frisbee dog

Posted 03-29-2009 at 03:09 PM by bellapup
In an effort to stop Bella from getting obsessed with balls, I've been trying to get her to fetch a frisbee or other toys when at home, not to mention spending more time doing tricks. A frisbee to me seems to make her go a little slower, and be a lot more precise in how she catches them.

I've seen a lot of people playing with hard frisbees, and the clacking I hear when the dog's teeth touch the plastic makes me cringe, so I knew soft was the only way to go...but that doesn't mean...
