The progression

Bella is still practicing her laps in the water, and it's been really fun to see her become excited now when she knows she can swim.

The last several times we were at the pool, she jumped right in with little hesitation. Even when her big doggy friends jump in and make big splashes, she's a lot more comfortable going right in with them.

Sometimes when we're preoccupied with talking and don't notice that she's dropped the ball by our feet for the next pool dunking, she'll whisk the ball away again, run around the pool, drop it in the water on the side, and run back around to the stairs to jump in.

At least she'll entertain herself if need be.

She's comfortable enough now that she'll get in on command even without the ball luring her.

Bella has now adopted the nickname of "Black and White Ops" because of the silent and stealthy way she swims up to the ball. That's my special agent!

LOL love the nickname. I can see her sharky little self now slinking through the water. Glad to hear she's doing so well!! Need to get some pictures for us. I can't wait to get home and take Zekers and Mud to the lake... I'm out of state right now and miss my pups lol. I'm so bored.

Just uploaded some new photos of my secret agent pup.

Awww...when do you get back? I bet yours are great swimmers. Do they just go in for fun, or do you have them fetch things?

Not until Sunday. Rusty goes in for fun. Mudflap will only fetch things(that is, if the toy isn't thrown too far). Zekers will go ANYWHERE the ball is thrown, and is getting enough confidence and love for the water than he kind of goes in as he pleases. He loves to get good and dirty/wet anyway so...lol. I think he'd swim the ocean if someone told him it was filled with tennis balls. Silly Z. ^^ I think he was actually born a fish, just happened to have fur and legs, lol! He's a natural.

Saw the pics, love them! So cute. Looks like she's just loving it.
