No matter which breed of dog you own, it will love to learn new things. How and why dogs learn is already discussed in the Level One classroom lessons and, if you haven’t already, you could learn much from reading through them.

A new puppy is an exciting addition to a family. They are adorable and warm. They snuggle and cuddle and seem to do everything right. Unfortunately, this is not all there is to puppies. You’ve seen your pet pawing, yipping and even barking in his sleep. Every time it happens you wonder if your faithful dog could be dreaming. We’d like to think that our beloved pets are able to enjoy the fun and mystery of dreams, but we’re not sure if the brains of dogs work the same way ours do. Do dogs dream? (more…)

Dog training has evolved through the centuries to arrive at the many dog professions and tricks of today. Hunting dogs hundreds of years ago were once trained in a similar way to the guide dogs of today and the cute dog down the street that knows so many tricks. Dogs have 25 times more smell receptors than us humans do and can smell odors at concentrations that are 100 million times lower than what we can. However many young dog owners don’t know that food poisoning can happen to dogs also.
