I finally sat down and wrote down all the tricks Jinx knows, wich ones we are still working on and started the To-Do list.
I am surprised at how much she already knows
So this is the list of tricks she knows. (I count normal obedience as tricks also
)
-Sit
-down
-stand
-stay in any position with distractions
-wait(stay where you are, untill I am with you)
-come
-heelwork
-heel(meaning come sit next to me/startposition for heelwork)
-left paw
-right paw
-high 5
-twist(spin right)
-turn(spin left)
-bow
-sit up
-speak loud(speak softly/whisper still needs work)
-jump in arms
-back stall, well still in progress, but she knows it when I am in a low position
-flip(jump straight up and turn in the air, while catching a frisbee)
-catch a frisbee
-teeter totter(agility)
-tunnel(agility)
-dogwalk(agility)
-jump over object(agility)
-weavepoles
-jump back(her own invention put on cue)
-take something to my boyfriend
-touch target(hand/post it/targetstick)
-touch pilon
-say your prayers
-weave between legs
-figure 8 between legs
-peek a boo(come up between my legs from behind)
-go to mat(in her case the leash)
-Jump over leg
-jump over arm
-paws up
-jump up on object
-step in the box
-sit in the box
-take my socks off
-at ease(cross paws to the right)
That's 42 tricks
Way more than I thought
Currently working on(mostly occasionally, that's why there is so much in this list)
-wisper(soft bark)
-roll over(need to put it on cue)
-fetch(she fetches, but I want to perfect in to a fetch where she comes and sits in front of me, holding the dummy untill I take it)
-away(go around an object in the right direction)
-come by(go around an object in the left direction)
-high ten(high 5, but with two paws)
-backdoor(halve circle, and back up between legs)
-relax(cross paws to the left)
-back up(almost there)
-open book(almost there)
-circle(circle around me)
-help with taking off sweater/coat
-polonaise(walking on hind legs, with front paws on my back and moving with me)
-help me up
The To-Do list so far:
-Shame(put it on hold, because I can't get it to work)
-Stand tall/stand on hind legs
-spin on hind legs
-back circle
-back weave
-undo zipper
It actually helped to write this down and get a clear view of what she already knows and what needs work. I had put some tricks down and then took them over to the "work in progress" list, as I decided they still needed work.
I also noticed how long my "currently working on" list is and I probably need to move some of those to the To-Do list for now. But i haven't decided which yet.
