Great thread.. I made some 'fish fudge' usually salmon is used but I used makerel and they turned out fine- the texture is exactly like fudge and good for clicker training - cut into whatever size you need! http://www.clickertraining.com/node/3225...i have a feeling Russ might not be able to eat wheat as he's gone all itchy  (it may be something else though) so I will cut out the flour and replace with oatmeal or try some ground up bits of his own kibble. However..he has learnt how to 'close the door' today with his makrel fudge and my new i-click so can't be all bad!

    Url isn't working:(

I would eliminate wheat, see if that stops Russ itching. Congratulations Russ! Way to go! Grand trick!

They sound good enough for us to eat!!!!!!!!!!! What substitutions will you make? Wholemeal flour as suggested? I don't have powered milk either, so what are you going to use in place? Want to make some for my boys as they both love cheese!
  12. southerngirl Honored Member

I'm going to substitute the flour with oats and the powered milk with liquid milk because I'm going to use liquid milk I'm going to use less water than it calls for

My dogs favorite treats are my tiny meatballs. I use 500 grams ground beef, one egg and two tablespoons of galicpowder and some polenta(cornmeal). Then spend some time rolling tiny balls. Spread them out on a backing sheet and bake them at a medium temperature untill they are done(I don't time this, I check to see if they are cooked, but still soft.) 150 celsius(sorry don't know the english tables) for about half an hour.
The rolling... That smells soooo good!!

Done: warning, you do leave a smell of garlic, if you carry these around:ROFLMAO:

Something else I do, which is very easy.
I boil chickenbreast(bone and skinless) in the microwave(or in water) then cut it up in small bits, spread it out on a backingsheet and dry them in the oven untill they are hard. They love those too.

Most treats I use for Dazzle are selfmade dried treats.
This can be just plain meat or organs (long, liver, kidney, hearts, etc) off different kinds off animals.
Also this way I can make small ones for training of big(ger) ones just as treat.

I do want to try out something with fish when I have my own 'doggy oven'. This includes salm, agar agar and some "white fish" (i am not sure this is the correct english word)
