Great vid!:)(y) Mazzel really works so well, he's a credit to you. Especially loved the 'search' the way he waited and didn't chase after you, even though I suspect he knew you had a cookie in your hand, excellent self-control.;)(y)

What's the secret to holding a good stay, especially when cookies are involved? Ra Kismet will hold a good stay but NOT if food is involved, fraid he follows his nose then!:(

Well I have to admit that Mazzel is very, very good at stay. With Boef it is more challenging.
I guess the key is to learn the dog that he will only get the treat when you return.
So let your dog sit/lie down (this is easier than standing), give the stay cue and walk away from your dog. In the beginning you can't walk very far/long, this has to be increased graduately. Than come back to your dog and wait next to the dog (at least 5 secs or so, this also has to be slowely increases) and than praise havily (treat). If the dog leaves it's spot to early, simply let the dog sit again, do a very short walk and wait and than praise. The waiting on your part is to prevent the dog from leaving earlier the get the reward.
And just keep it short and fun.
I also do stay/name games with both the dogs at the same time. So one has to stay while the other one has come.

If you look closely you can see that Mazzel leaves a tad to quick the first time, but does better the second time.

@julie.sergeantnutballs, yeah mazzel sure knows how to get the reward :D he loves tricktraining and is very motivated and a quick learner

little update:
we are now working on:
- hugging my leg (which is going very wel)
- going from long to sit pretty (which is hard, so we are building muscle memory to go back in sit pretty)

Wow, that's fantastic! I really want to teach Ra Kismet hug my leg, sure he'd get it pretty quickly, but don't know where to start:confused: Any video?????

Good idea to build on muscle memory(y)
